Spotlight opens its world’s largest store in Maroochydore

Following 12 months of construction, Spotlight Group has opened one of the largest flagship stores in the world on the fringe of the booming Maroochydore CBD.

At more than 6,000 sq m, the flagship store on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is a part of a wider retail development spanning across an 11,000 sq m precinct.

The Maroochydore opening is the first stage of a three-part project, revolutionising the Large Format Retail sector.

“It is a flagship development for Queensland and a key milestone for the Spotlight Retail Group”, said Executive Deputy Chairman Zac Fried.

“The enquiries and interest from prospective tenants we’ve received in recent weeks meant that we had to bring forward our Stage Two plans.  We are looking at doing a 20,000sqm centre.”

“We’re now looking to begin the second stage within the next 12 months, which will include retail and upscale commercial space.”

The new retail precinct is also anchored by other Spotlight Retail Group brands, Anaconda and Harris Scarfe.

The 4.35-hectare Maroochydore City Centre site is now open and located at 53 – 91 Dalton Drive, Maroochydore QLD 4558.
