Premier Mark McGowan joins Arise Developments to celebrate construction of $25 million Rockingham Central
Arise Developments was joined by Premier and Rockingham MLA Mark McGowan and City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels to turn the sod and mark the start of construction of the $25 million Rockingham Central Development.
The ground-breaking ceremony kicks off the project build which will feature more than 6,000 square metres of commercial and retail floor space.
Development and Acquisitions Manager Scott Jansen is excited about the project and its expected contribution to the local economy.
“Rockingham Central is a significant investment for Arise Developments,” said Mr Jansen.
“This project will provide more jobs and more retail and lifestyle options for the local community.
“We’re excited to work with Crothers Constructions and Bella Build & Design, with architectural work being undertaken by Hames Sharley,” concluded Mr Jansen.
Rockingham Central is expected to be operational by mid-2021 and create more than 400 construction and ongoing jobs for the local economy.
“Developments like these support local jobs and local work opportunities as Rockingham continues to recover from the impacts of COVID-19,” added Premier McGowan.
“Once the new Centre is complete there will also be a range of job opportunities for local retail workers and other staff.”
The coastal suburb sits between two of the fastest growing districts in Western Australia – Kwinana and Baldivis.
Located at the corner of Read Street and Council Avenue, Rockingham Central Development will be the future home to anchor tenants including The Good Guys, Anytime Fitness and 7-Eleven.
