Large Format Retail makes headway with industry award wins
Maroochydore Homemaker Centre has been recognised at this year’s 2021 Queensland Retail Property Awards.
This retail asset took home accolades for Excellence in Centre Management and was awarded Runner Up in the most prestigious retail property title Queensland Retail Property of the Year.
The Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards acknowledges the best in retail properties and precincts across the state.
The award categories reward excellence in relation to design, marketing, centre management and innovation.
The winners were announced at the annual Retail Awards Gala Dinner held at the Royal International Convention Centre on Friday 8 October 2021.
A signature annual event in the property industry’s calendar for over fifteen years, it was put on hold in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Judges were impressed by Maroochydore Homemaker Centre’s immaculate presentation from the gardens to the mall furniture.
This asset was a clear winner backed up by strong feedback from retailers and customers alike.
Sharon White Centre Manager accepted the award on the night and credited both Harvey Norman and CBRE.
“Harvey Norman purpose built a beautiful Homemaker Centre 9 years ago.
“CBRE’s role in its continuing success is making sure that every detail of the Centre and its operation is considered and made better.
“It’s a combination of driving the property in a macro and micro view simultaneously that has led to the success that we have enjoyed with the award win.
“It is also great to see Large Format Retail being able to stretch across to mainstream retail.
“This in itself is a win for the greater Large Format industry.”
