Kitchen Warehouse lights the way in new Gepps Cross store

Kitchen Warehouse has elevated the in-store experience at its new Gepps Cross location in Adelaide, thanks to a lighting solution designed to create a more welcoming and visually engaging retail space.
Partnering with commercial lighting specialists Amphis, the retailer sought to improve product visibility while balancing ambience and functionality. The brief focused on creating a store environment that felt light, open and considered, while also supporting the practical needs of team members and customers alike.
The result is a tailored lighting scheme combining Amphis’ Sydro LED Linear High Bay and Vega Track Lights. The high bays deliver broad, even illumination across the expansive retail floor, while the track lighting provides adjustable, focused beams to enhance product displays and visual merchandising.
The project also considered staff comfort, selecting fittings with high colour rendering to reduce eye strain and improve overall clarity. This blend of general and accent lighting helped create a space that is both functional and warm.
“Creating an atmosphere and an ambience for Kitchen Warehouse is extremely important to us,” said Justin Zito, GM of Retail at Kitchen Warehouse. “We want customers to feel welcome and part of our family. Since opening, we’ve had fantastic feedback from customers and our team. Amphis understood what we wanted to achieve, and the results speak for themselves.”
The lighting upgrade reflects a growing trend in retail to use lighting more intentionally—not just to illuminate, but to influence customer experience. From guiding traffic flow to encouraging product interaction, light plays an essential role in shaping how customers move through and engage with the space.
By combining performance and design, the Kitchen Warehouse Gepps Cross project showcases how thoughtful lighting can support both brand identity and day-to-day operations.
