Good360 mobilises support for Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred recovery efforts

The devastating impact of ex-tropical Cyclone Alfred in Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW has left countless communities in urgent need of help. As businesses and individuals rally together to support those affected, the Large Format Retail sector has a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

The Large Format Retail Association is an official partner of Good360, Australia’s leading charity for product redistribution, helping to mobilise businesses within the sector to contribute to relief efforts.

Through its disaster recovery initiatives, Good360 connects businesses with local charities and schools supporting disaster-affected communities to ensure surplus goods find a second life where they’re needed most.

With recovery efforts from ex-tropical Cyclone Alfred well underway, there are multiple ways that Large Format Retail Association members, and the wider sector can provide meaningful aid:

  • Donate essential products such as furniture, bedding, tools, and home improvement materials can help families rebuild.
  • Provide financial support through cash donations which enable Good360 to facilitate logistics, distribution, and coordination of aid.
  • Encourage corporate volunteering by having staff become involved in packing and distributing relief goods.
  • Leverage business networks by engaging suppliers and industry partners to amplify the impact of relief efforts.

Ex-tropical Cyclone Alfred is a stark reminder that natural disasters can strike at any time, leaving devastation in their wake.

Good360 has a strong track record of providing essential goods to disaster-affected areas, including those impacted by the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires. A recent revisit to Batemans Bay by Paul Murray Live highlighted how, five years later, recovery is ongoing, demonstrating the long-term need for sustained support.
