Gibb Group Scholarship offers property students industry opportunity

National industrial and large format retail property specialists, Gibb Group, have announced a new scholarship which aims to provide encouragement and support for talented property students commencing at the University of South Australia. The chosen recipient will receive a three-year scholarship valued at up to $15,000, and benefit from work experience with Gibb Group at any of their offices in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Rockhampton or Townsville.

Matthew Gibb, Managing Director of Gibb Group, initiated the scholarship as a way to give back to the industry. “I greatly enjoyed my studies at the University of South Australia, so this scholarship seemed like a perfect opportunity to enable that experience for someone else. As Gibb Group celebrates its tenth year, I feel it’s important to acknowledge my education and the opportunities it has provided me. I hope this scholarship kick starts the recipients career in property.”

The work experience component of the scholarship is designed to provide the recipient with exposure to the development and asset management of Industrial Logistics, Suburban Office, Large Format Retail and Business Park space.

Deborah Heithersay, Director of Advancement at the University of South Australia, states: “The Gibb Group Property Scholarship will provide a young person the opportunity of a lifetime to focus on their studies through financial support, but also to work alongside and be mentored by Matt Gibb, who is one of the University of South Australia’s brilliant property management graduates. Matt’s breadth of experience and the extraordinary company he is building Australia-wide is an inspiration to our students. As a scholarship recipient himself, Matt was keen to give back – as he knows the value of scholarships and the difference they make to an individual when they’re given the chance to shine.”

The applicant must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or international student, commencing full-time at the University of South Australia, and be enrolled in the Bachelor of Business – Property (DBPY) course.
