Cosgrove Group completes latest Large Format Retail development

Cosgrove Group is pleased to confirm the recent completion of Albany Grove, its latest Large Format Retail development in Albany, Western Australia.

Strategically positioned within a well-established Large Format Retail precinct, Albany Grove is situated on the corner of Albany Highway, the major arterial road to and from the region, and Chester Pass Road.

Architecturally designed by Meyer Shircore, the 5,500 square metre Large Format Retail centre features a modern design with prime frontage to Chester Pass Road, and an abundance of on-grade parking that delivers a brand-new shopping destination for the residents of Albany.

Cosgrove Group is also excited to announce Rebel Sport has just joined the strong line up of tenants including Bunnings company Tool Kit Depot and Red Dot Home, and is expected to have its grand opening in late January 2025.

The centre has been a huge success, with 93% of the space leased before construction was even completed. This reflects the strong demand for functional and modern Large Format Retail spaces, driven by Albany’s significant population growth.

According to the latest Regional Movers Index report – which is developed by the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) to provide an analysis of movements between Australia’s regions and capital cities – Albany had the third highest net migration in Western Australia (10.8%). It also experienced the second highest growth in net capital-regional migration in the country.

The Index reports a 465% increase in people moving to Albany from capital cities over the 12 months to June 2024, representing a massive five-fold jump.

This population boom is a golden opportunity for retailers to grow their store network in regional Western Australia.
