Colliers boosts urban design with Ethos Urban acquisition

Colliers has announced its acquisition of a controlling interest in urban planning and design firm Ethos Urban, strengthening its strategic advisory capabilities in Australia’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Colliers Asia Pacific CEO John Kenny said Ethos Urban’s expertise has played a key role in Australia’s urbanisation and development. “We are excited to welcome them as partners and collaborate to expand their operations in new and existing markets,” he said.

Ethos Urban’s leadership team will retain a significant ownership stake under Colliers’ partnership model, ensuring continuity and strategic alignment.

Colliers’ real estate services CEO, Chris McLernon, highlighted the firm’s recent acquisitions in the region and the opportunity to leverage its brand and market connections. “We see tremendous potential with this partnership and expect to cross-sell services to our combined client base,” he said.

Ethos Urban CEO Mark Stefanac said the partnership provides resources and opportunities to enhance client outcomes nationwide. The transaction is expected to be finalised in early 2025, with the firm rebranding as Colliers later in the year.
