Baby Bunting commissions an on-site product testing lab
In June 2022, Baby Bunting officially commissioned their Wen Huang Product Testing Room.
The space contains specialised equipment that helps the team ensure parents can use products with confidence.
The testing room is located on-site at the Baby Bunting Melbourne distribution and store support centre.
This equipment includes a rolling road machine, a curb mounting test machine, an inclined stability testing machine and more, allowing Baby Bunting to thoroughly test certain baby products through a range of scenarios.
Baby Bunting’s Group Legal Counsel, Corey Lewis, says the opening of this room is an important milestone as the company continues its investment to support product safety and compliance.
“At Baby Bunting, recognising that the users of our products are among the most vulnerable, we take our obligations for product safety and compliance very seriously,” said Mr Lewis.
“The Wen Huang Product Testing Room complements our existing systems, and together, with our suppliers, we’re very focused on ensuring our products meet required standards and the expectations of parents and carers.”
However, for the Baby Bunting team, there is an extra layer of emotion tied to the commissioning of the testing lab.
The room is named after Wen Huang, Baby Bunting’s very first Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager.
He was a leader in his field and passionate about his role, and he had an incredible vision for Baby Bunting to have their own well-equipped product testing room.
The goal was to enable the company to test products and create an extra level of assurance for both team members and parents.
Devastatingly, Wen passed away before he could see his vision realised.
“Wen was a much-loved and respected member of the Baby Bunting team,” said Mr Lewis.
“His contribution to our industry, and to our organisation, is one that we will remember.”
Since the Wen Huang Product Testing Room was commissioned a few months ago, it has already seen more than 50 products assessed in the Testing Room, including strollers, cots, electrical goods, and toys.
