A brand-new IKEA opened last month, south of the Swan River in Cannington, giving Perth shoppers an IKEA like they’ve never seen before.

At IKEA Cannington, the focus is planning areas of the home that customers may need a little more help and attention with, such as kitchens, wardrobes and living room storage.

Customers visiting IKEA Cannington will get one-on-one, personalised advice from an IKEA expert.

They will be guided through the entire process starting with ideas and inspiration for their dream space, choosing the right IKEA solutions to bring it to life, planning exactly how it will work in their home, ordering the products, organising collection or home delivery, and booking any installation or assembly.

At 544 m2 in size, this is the third of the new, smaller IKEA Plan and order point formats seen in Australia, with Cannington joining Highpoint in Melbourne’s west and Belrose in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

As an omnichannel retailer, IKEA offers different ways customers can shop both digitally and physically – however, whenever and wherever they like.

IKEA Plan and order points are an innovative way for IKEA to be more accessible, convenient and closer to customers.

IKEA Cannington is pioneering two new features which are an Australian-first for an IKEA Plan and order point.

Customers visiting IKEA Cannington will, for the first time ever, be able to shop on the spot and take home some of their favourite IKEA home furnishing accessories.

Up to 100 products are on display for immediate purchase, including storage boxes and drawer inserts, kitchen organisation items, cooking utensils, food storage containers, and of course the famous IKEA blue FRAKTA bag.

In another Australian first, IKEA Cannington has a Pick-up point on site.

This means customers will be able to conveniently place an order for any products from the full IKEA range online or via remote shopping and choose the option to pick up from Cannington, in addition to the existing IKEA Perth store at Innaloo.

IKEA Cannington Manager, Simba Mashanyare says, “Opening IKEA Cannington today signals our ambitions for building on our strong presence in the Perth market.

“We know accessing our store has been a barrier for those customers who live or work south of the Swan River and a more convenient location means they can more easily visit us to take advantage of IKEA home furnishing expertise and inspiration to create a better life at home.

“We have put the customer at the centre of how we designed this new Plan and order point.”

IKEA are not only offering personalised one-on-one planning, but the ability to pick up orders right from IKEA Cannington as well as purchase key products to take home on the spot.
