$80 million Bunnings Warehouse Pymble replaces the smallest Bunnings store in Australia
Pymble and Gordon residents can now access an even wider range of home and lifestyle products close to home, with Bunnings opening the doors to the new $80 million Pymble warehouse.
The new Pymble Warehouse will replace the Gordon smaller format store, which has been serving the local community for more than 30 years and is the smallest Bunnings store in Australia.
Local customers will notice the new store differs from the traditional Bunnings format.
Bunnings Pymble has some unique architectural features in place of the familiar green warehouse style, including coloured exterior glass, extensive landscaping including a boardwalk around part of the site, as well as a uniquely shaped roof.
The multi-level warehouse will span more than 15,000 square metres and will have more than 300 car parks for customers.
Bunnings Complex Manager, Brendan O’Hehir, who has worked with Bunnings for more than twelve years, will lead the Pymble team of more than 200 employees.
The new store has created close to 190 new jobs, with approximately 15 existing team members transferring across from Gordon.
A number of team members will be skilled experts in timber, tools, paint, kitchens, plumbing, garden and outdoor living and will be on hand to provide local residents with expert advice for all their D.I.Y. projects.
“The store has been nearly ten years in the making and offers a convenient option for locals who have previously had to travel to larger surrounding stores such as Thornleigh, Chatswood, and Belrose to access our full range.
“Now customers can grab all they need just 1.5km from the old Gordon site.
“The team have been working flat out over the last few weeks to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to show customers what we have to offer,” Brendan said.
Bunnings Pymble will feature some of the latest in-store Bunnings concepts which are currently being rolled out across the store network, to provide customers with more inspiration and an easier shopping experience.
These include a Kitchen Design Centre, a newly laid out paint department, bathroom displays, new look trade service area, a wider range of site safety and workwear products in the one location, as well as an aisle for transport and moving needs.
It will also include familiar features such as the main retail area, timber and building materials yard, outdoor nursery, as well as a range of sustainability initiatives which will reduce the store’s environmental impact, such as LED lighting throughout, energy efficient heating and cooling, on site water reuse and solar panels.
Bunnings Warehouse Pymble is located at the Corner of Pacific Highway and Ryde Road, Pymble NSW 2073, with access via Bridge Street.
