2023 Associate Member of the Year: Buchan

Buchan, renowned for its architecture and design services, has been honoured as the LFRA Associate Member of the Year 2023.

This award, open to all LFRA Associate members except real estate agencies contributing to the Large Format Retail sector, acknowledges Buchan’s significant role in this industry.

With over 25 years of experience, Buchan has substantially contributed to the development of Large Format Retail, collaborating with major clients like Aventus/HomeCo/HMC, Spotlight Property Group, Harvey Norman, BWP Trust, and The Super Retail Group.

They have also partnered with retailers such as Bunnings, Spotlight, Anaconda, Amart, IKEA, and Beacon to develop and enhance new retail concepts.

Buchan’s influence extends across Australia and New Zealand, where they have designed and delivered over 1 million square metres of Large Format Retail projects in the last decade, significantly impacting store networks and community development.

As leaders in Lifestyle and Large Format Retail, Buchan has been pivotal in guiding LFRA members through their annual study tours, led by Principal and Sector Lead, Phil Schoutrop.

These tours, conducted over the past decade, have provided insights into the latest industry trends and developments, showcasing Buchan’s commitment to global knowledge and local application.

This approach has set new standards in the Lifestyle Sector, leading to optimal commercial outcomes for LFRA members.
